Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said on the directive of Prime Minister, immediate steps are being taken to resolve the issues faced by media industry.
Talking to a private news channel, she said a long term policy would be made in this regard.
The Special Assistant said Wage Board Award has been finalized to provide urgent relief to media workers and its summary is being sent to the Prime Minister for approval.
She said efforts are being made to improve the security of journalists and provide them health cards at the earliest.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said she is in contact with all journalists organizations for resolving the issues faced by media industry.
Meanwhile, addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the Special Assistant said the government will provide all facilities and opportunities to artists to promote art and culture in the country.
