UN policy on Israeli-occupied Golan Heights remains unchanged despite US President Donald Trump administration's recognition of Israeli sovereignty over territory.
This was stated by U.N. Spokesman for Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric during a daily press briefing at United Nations.
Stephane said U.N.'s policy on Golan is reflected in relevant resolutions of Security Council and that policy has not been changed.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has denounced U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.
A statement released by the Saudi Press Agency today said that Golan Heights is an occupied territory belongs to Syria.
The statement says it will have negative effects on the peace process in the Middle East as well as security and stability of the region.
