The United States has expressed satisfaction over reduction of violence in Afghanistan during a week-long truce with Taliban prior to peace deal signing in Doha on Saturday.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while speaking at a news conference in Washington, expressed optimism about reaching the accord to end long war in Afghanistan.

He said the reduction in violence is working imperfect but its working.

Pompeo said we are on the cusp of enormous political opportunity.
