OIC renews its appeal to all parties in Afghanistan to work together for lasting cease-fire

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has renewed its appeal to all leaders and parties in Afghanistan to work together for an urgent and lasting cease-fire.

In a statement, the OIC urged all the Afghan parties to reduce violence during the month of Ramazan and in view of the difficult conditions faced by their country in face of Coronavirus epidemic.

The OIC also urged the Afghan parties to resort to the constructive dialogue to settle their disputes and reach comprehensive reconciliation and lasting peace within the framework of the peace process.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen has welcomed the statement issued by Saudi-led Coalition to extend ceasefire in Yemen.

He reaffirmed the OIC's support for the Yemeni people and for a comprehensive and just political solution agreed upon by the Yemenis.
