UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for investment in culture to promote global solidarity.

Speaking during an event at UN headquarters in New York, he emphasized the importance of arts and culture in development of societies.

While highlighting the importance of cultural activities in achieving global solidarity, he urged world nations to protect cultural rights just as we protect all other human rights.

He also reiterated his appeal for a global cease-fire for the sake of the fight against COVID-19.
