Pakistan and Austria have exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.

This came during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The two sides expressed satisfaction at the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Austria bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, economic relations, education, and people-to-people ties.

The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of disputes, in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and international law.

He also stressed the importance of full implementation of the Islamabad MoU by all parties.

In her remarks, the Austrian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan's constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement in addressing regional and global challenges.

Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement on matters of mutual interest.
