Taliban hold first Loya Jirga after capturing Kabul

First Loya Jirga after the taking over of Afghanistan by Taliban was held in Kabul today (Monday).

The Jirga was attended by more than 800 Ulemas while the Afghan political leadership also participated.

Taliban’s leader and an important member of Doha negotiation team Molvi Amir Khan Mutaqqi chaired the Jirga.

Speaking to the Jirga, Molvi Mutaqqi said that the Taliban wanted to include all political parties of the country in the new government of Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan.

Taliban’s Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on the occasion that everyone is safe in Afghanistan and no one should leave the country. He urged those who want to leave the country to stay here and play their role in country’s development and progress.

Meanwhile, Taliban has appointed Haji Muhammad Idrees as an acting Governor for Afghanistan's central bank.
