China has urged international community to promote the resumption of peace talks between Palestine and Israel to resolve the dispute.

Speaking at the Security Council, Chinese Ambassador Ma Zhaoxu said curbing violence with violence will not solve the problem in Palestine.

He called on all parties to lift the blockade on Gaza as soon as possible. Chinese envoy also regretted Israel's decision to close the schools run by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in East Jerusalem.
