Govt believes in strengthening judiciary: Firdous

Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan says the government believes in further strengthening the judiciary as a sovereign and independent institution.

Talking to media persons in Sialkot on Friday, she said recent remarks by Prime Minister regarding the judiciary were presented in a distorted manner.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the PTI government believes in accountability and rule of law.

Referring to the PTI funding case, she said the party presents itself for the accountability but our stance is that the petitions filed by the party against other parties are also clubbed and heard together.

The Special Assistant said Prime Minister Imran Khan has put the economy on the right track.

She said their political opponents are now perturbed over the success of the government with regards to bringing stability to the economy.

The opposition parties see no future as the government is heading towards providing relief to the masses.

Responding to a question, the Special Assistant said Prime Minister in his telehponic conservation with US President Donald Trump once again drew his attention towards the oppression unleashed by Indian forces against the innocent Kashmiri people.

She said the International community should become voice of the oppressed Kashmiri people and stop India from its persecution campaign.

Addressing a ceremony at Government College Women University Sialkot today,  Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed the government's commitment to transform Pakistan as per the ideals of its founding fathers.

She said the government is convinced that it can not take forward the country without socio-economic and political empowerment of women.

She said the women will be fully empowered in order to bring positive change in the society.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the participation of women in different fields is important to take the country towards stability and rid it of the rotten system.

On the occasion, the Special Assistant also announced one hundred scholarships for deserving students of the University.
