In Sudan, new Prime Minister, Abdalla Hamdok has vowed to tackle conflicts, achieve peace and solve economic crisis of the country.

Talking to reporters at a news conference in Khartoum after taking oath of his office, he said the revolution’s deep-rooted slogan, ‘freedom, peace and justice,’ will form the program of the transitional period.

General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and other military officers overthrew veteran leader Omar Hassan al-Bashir in April in response to months of protests over economic hardships and dictatorship.

Meanwhile, United States, Britain and Norway have welcomed Hamdok’s appointment and urged the military to engage constructively with the new government.
