North Korea has warned it is facing a food shortfall of some 1.4m tons this year and has been forced to almost half rations.

DPRK government has called on international organizations to urgently respond to addressing the food situation in the country.

Pyongyang released the memo days before a second summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump scheduled to be held in Vietnam next week.
