United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt says seizure of British tanker by Iran is clear contravention of international law but reaffirmed his country's desire to de-escalate.

He made the remarks on his Twitter account after government emergency committee meeting which discussed on how to secure the safety of U.K. and international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Hunt said U.K. Parliament will be updated tomorrow.
