SCO Council of FMs’ Meeting begins in Bishkek today

The two-day SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting begins in Bishkek today.     

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will lead the Pakistan delegation at the meeting.

Foreign Ministers of all SCO Member States are expected to attend the meeting.     

The meeting will approve important documents which will later be adopted by the Council of Heads of States meeting, to be held in Bishkek next month.       

During the Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Foreign Minister will deliver remarks at the Plenary Session.   

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, on the sidelines, is also due to hold bilateral meetings with several participating Ministers and the Secretary General of SCO.    

The Foreign Minister’s participation in SCO-CFM illustrates the high importance that Pakistan attaches to the SCO and to deepening its engagement with the region.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel today, International Relations Expert Dr. A.Z. Hilali has said the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is the only organization which is of significant importance for Pakistan in term of trade, economy, culture, bilateral relation with neighboring countries and foreign policy.

He said Pakistan and China always stand by with each other in every tested time.

On his part, IR Expert Dr. Rasool Bakhsh Raees, expressing his views about Pak-India relations, said after the announcement of results of general election, we hope India will come up with positive changes.

He said Politics and foreign policies are two different things and India should avoid doing politics in the name of Kashmir.

He said New Delhi has been failed to suppress the voices of Kashmiris for their righty of freedom and self-determinations.
