16-member federal cabinet sworn in
August 20, 2018

President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath of office to a 16-member federal cabinet, including three women in Islamabad today.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Governors designate of Sindh and Punjab, leadership of PTI and senior government officials attended the event.

The Ministers and their portfolios are:

National History & Literary Heritage Division, Asad Umer Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shireen M. According to a notification by the Cabinet Division Mirza Shahzad Akbar has been appointed as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability, with the status of Minister of State.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry says the Ministry will play its due role in implementation of Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision unfolded in his address to the nation.

Talking to Radio Pakistan's Special Correspondent Javed Khan Jadoon on the occasion of oath-taking ceremony of the federal cabinet in Islamabad today, he said the Information Ministry will serve as a bridge between the government and people.

Fawad Chaudhry said the positive and soft image of the country will be projected adequately at international level. To a question, the Minister for Information said the PTI government will try to change the system prevailing in the country for the past seventy years.

Law Minister Barrister Farogh Nasim told Radio Pakistan on the occasion that the Ministry of Law will help translate the vision of Imran Khan through laws.

Minister for Information Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said the MQM leadership representing middle class of the society will help the Prime Minister achieve his ambitious plan of taking Pakistan to new heights.

Talking to Radio Pakistan on the occasion, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Information Senator Faisal Javed said Radio Pakistan is playing an important role to disseminate credible information to every nook and cranny of the country.

He said the Senate Committee on Information has prepared recommendations to revamp Radio Pakistan and they will be shared to the Minister for Information.
