South Korea has urged Japan to explain a plan to dispose of the nuclear polluted water from Fukushima nuclear power plant.

South Korea's Foreign Ministry summoned a diplomat from Japanese Embassy in Seoul to deliver the note verbale.

Under the note, South Korea said the contaminated water from Fukushima power plant may have negative impact on the health and safety of both countries' people and the neighbouring countries.
