Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that despite China's growth, it would never seek global hegemony.

In a speech marking 40 years of reform, he vowed that his country will not develop at the expense of other nations.

He said China is a global super power and it would not accept dictation from other countries.

He also highlighted China's contributions towards a shared future for mankind.
