Dr. Abdullah Gul (Defence Analyst):The spectacular welcome to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir by host Saudi Arabia and Iran marks the level of respect and regard for Pakistan in both the friendly and brotherly countries. Pakistan has come out of Mideast crisis as victorious by bringing both the warring nations to negotiation table. Pakistan has ensured peace in result of statesmanship of our Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. This makes us proud in the backlash of happenings in the region. I think that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants leadership from other brotherly countries to witness the signing of peace agreement between the US and Iran to end war because leadership from these friendly countries remained in constant contact with Pakistani leadership in peacemaking efforts. Pakistan wants an end of Iranian missile strikes on other Muslim countries. In the changing new world order Islamabad is going to be diplomatic hub by playing key role in ensuring global peace. The new world order is in offing and policy of Pakistan and China is going to dominate this new world order. The US leadership indulged in war which hurt US and international community’s interests globally. War policy is wrong because world can’t be run through this policy. Therefore, US allies also avoided to support US in war on Iran. Pakistan is going to rise as world super power for being nuclear power.

Haroon Shaukat (Former Diplomat):I think that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal along with their teams are doing remarkable jobs on diplomatic fronts by securing peace and stability for this volatile region. I think that both the Iran and the US reposed their full trust in Pakistan at first round of Islamabad Talks. Pakistan has now gone beyond the facilitating talks between the two sides as now Pakistan is actively mediating in Mideast conflict.  Now Pakistan is at a very good position as it is passing and transmitting messages from either side to the other side. Pakistan is impressing on both sides to show magnanimity towards peace process without being provoked. It is a very complex situation; however, Pakistani leadership has done good job. Therefore, the US and Iran both have appreciated Pakistani political and military leadership’s role. Both Iran and the US can claim victory for their domestic audiences after peace deal. I think that Pakistan played major role in the past especially in resolving Afghanistan’s issue. However, in Mideast conflict Pakistan’s mediatory role has been acknowledged globally just because of the fact that Pakistan convinced both sides to the peace talks.
