
As the house resumed session, newly elected Speaker Asad Qaiser thanked the members for reposing confidence in him and pledged to live up to their expectations. He said he will move forward with the consultation of all the elected members.
Asad Qaiser said that the speakership is a big responsibility and he will do his best to perform his responsibilities in an effective manner. He said the elected representatives will be fully facilitated by the staff of the national assembly for legislation.
He urged the members to play a positive role and work together in the best national interests whilst rising above their personal interests. He said Pakistan is our identity and we will have to collectively work for the welfare of the masses.



In his remarks, Khursheed Shah congratulated Asad Qaiser over his election as the new speaker. He said this parliament is sovereign and we will continue to work for its sanctity.
Khursheed Shah further stated that his party will fully play the role of the opposition but will not create any hurdle in the legislation aimed at the welfare of people and national interests.
Murtaza Javed Abbassi of PML (N) also felicitated Asad Qaiser over his election and said his party will move forward as per the parliamentary traditions.
In his remarks, Shah Mehmoud Qureshi pointed out that Pakistan is faced with immense challenges on the economic and foreign policy front.
He said the opinion of all the elected members to address these challenges will be fully respected.
He said we also accept the right of the opposition to present their point of view.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said the elected representatives should respect each other and avoid mud-slinging even when exercising their right to protest. He said we should work for the welfare of the country.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said he tried his best to run the House in an amicable way during his tenure.



Maulana Abdul Wassay said despite worst rigging in the general election, today’s process reflects beauty of the democracy. He assured to support democratic process and the parliamentary traditions.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal said on floor of the House he will raise voice for redressal of problems being faced by Balochistan and smaller provinces.
Shahzain Bugti said Bugti people have always supported Pakistan and they are not involved in any kind of corruption. He said Pakistan is our motherland and we have to live and die for it. He said we cannot even think of uttering a single word against Pakistan. He said the people of Balochistan are lacking health and educational facilities.



Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi, while felicitating the newly elected Speaker, said it is a step forward towards transition of power in a democratic way. He urged the political parties to play their due role in strengthening Pakistan and the parliament as envisioned by founders of the country.
Ghaus Bakhsh Mahr said felicitated Asad Qaisar for his election as new Speaker of the National Assembly. He said all political parties should respect mandate of one another.
Khalid Magsi said we should all join forces for the development of Pakistan and serve the people in a better way.
