International Day of Human Space Flight was observed today. 

The purpose of observing the day was to reaffirm the important contribution of space science and technology in achieving sustainable development goals.

The United Nations has declared 12th April as the International Day of Human Spaceflight to commemorate the first human journey into space by Yuri Gagarin in 1961.
