Radio DG lauds 36-year meritorious services, professional competency of outgoing DN Abdul Hadi

A farewell luncheon was hosted in Islamabad today in honour of outgoing Director News Abdul Hadi Mayar, who is getting retired tomorrow after rendering 36 years of meritorious services in Radio Pakistan. 

Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Ms Ambreen Jan, Director Administration and Finance Raza Abbas Naqvi, Director Programmes Khalida Nuzhat, Director Engineering Naeem Arshad Khero, sitting and retired Controllers of News and a large number of officers from the News Wing attended the event. 

In her remarks on the occasion, the DG of the Radio Pakistan acknowledged the services and professional competence of the outgoing Director News for the organization. She appreciated the contribution made by Abdul Hadi Mayar for making the organization professionally sound.

Other speakers also paid rich tribute to the outgoing Director News, highlighting his commendable services in various sections of the News Wing of Radio Pakistan.

Abdul Hadi Mayar, who joined Radio Pakistan's Monitoring Unit in Islamabad on November 26, 1984, has in his tenure headed News and Current Affairs Channel, Reporting section, National News Room, Public Relations Department, and Monitoring Unit at National Broadcasting House, Islamabad. Earlier, Mr. Mayar served in different capacities at various PBC stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Abdul Hadi Mayar has a vast experience of working in various newspapers, including The Pakistan Times, The Muslim and The Pakistan Observer. He has also contributed columns to different English newspapers and journals. In addition to his journalistic capabilities, Abdul Hadi has on his credit poems, short stories, and critiques in Urdu, Pashto and English languages.
