Bolivian President Evo Morales has resigned following weeks of protests over his disputed victory in the election held last month. Earlier, the international monitors called for the election result to be annulled, saying they had found clear manipulations in polls.

Morales agreed with the findings and announced his intention to call fresh elections after overhauling the country's election body.Politicians, army and police chiefs had also urged him to quit.
