President UNHRC expresses concern on human rights abuses in Occupied Kashmir

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi held a special meeting with President UN Human Rights Council and Permanent Representative of Senegal to the United Nations Ambassador Coly Seck in Geneva. 

They discussed unilateral steps taken by India on fifth of last month in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the gross human rights violations committed by it.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi apprised the President Human Rights Council that India wants to change the demographic composition of population through these unilateral steps.

He said the illegal steps taken by India contravene the international laws and also negate the UN Security Council resolutions.

The Foreign Minister said curfew is in place in Occupied Kashmir since the fifth of last month with communication totally blocked.

He said innocent and oppressed Kashmiris are looking towards international community including the Human Rights Council in hope of justice.   

President Human Rights Council Coly Seck expressed concern on human rights abuses and said whole world is deeply watching the situation.
