International Day of Women and Girls in Science was marked across the globe today including Pakistan.
The objective of the day is to ensure participation of women and girls in the male-dominated field of science through increased investment and giving them opportunities and incentives.
At present, less than 30 percent of researchers worldwide are women.
According to UNESCO data (2014 - 2016), only three per cent of female students enrollment in Information and Communication Technologies , natural science and mathematics Globally.
Meanwhile, five per cent women selected for statistics and eight per cent selected in engineering, manufacturing and construction.
