International Day of Radiology is being observed today to promote role of medical imaging in modern healthcare.

The day is an annual celebration to mark the anniversary of discovery of x-rays.                        

This year theme of the day is 'sports imaging' to focus on importance of radiology in sports.      

The European Society of Radiology has launched a Sports Imaging microsite to show how radiology is used in diagnosis and management of sports injuries.
