Punjab Govt initiates five-year Oilseed Enhancement Programme

Punjab government has initiated a five-year Oilseed Enhancement Programme in fifteen districts of the province.

The programme, costing more than 5.11 billion rupees, is aimed at promotion of oilseed crops cultivation.

A senior official of Punjab Agriculture Department told APP today (Sunday) that under the plan, special attention would be accorded to enhancing the land for cultivation of oilseed crops from 45,000 to 100,000 acres.

He said the programme is being carried out in Sialkot, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, DG Khan, Vehari, Muzaffargarh and Khanewal districts.
