IPO, TMUC organize seminar to observe World Intellectual Property Day in Islamabad

The Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) of Pakistan in collaboration with The Millennium Universal College (TMUC) organized a seminar to observe World Intellectual Property Day in Islamabad. 

The event was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of intellectual property rights in promoting innovation, creativity, sustainable development and to empower citizens with knowledge and skills in IP management.

Addressing the seminar, Chairperson Intellectual Property Organization Pakistan Farukh Amil emphasized the significance of mainstreaming IP education into the national curriculum.

He urged the students to invent, own, and earn from their ideas, and highlighted IP's critical role in national development, economic security, and empowerment, particularly in achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In her address, Director General IPO-Pakistan Ms. Shazia Adnan, reaffirmed the commitment to fostering creativity, protecting innovation, and nurturing the innovative spirit.

She announced plans to introduce Intellectual Property education in the national curriculum, a nationwide Intellectual Property awareness campaign, and the evolving a National Intellectual Property Strategy.
