US Senator Chris Van Hollen in an interview with the Post in New Delhi said if the Indian government has nothing to hide, they should not worry about people visiting Kashmir and witnessing the situation with their own eyes.
He is the first US Congressman to have been denied permission by Indian government after repeal of special status of occupied territory on August 5.
He called upon Indian government to fully restore telecommunications and internet services, lift its lockdown and curfew; and release individuals detained after the abrogation of special status of occupied Kashmir.
