SAPM on Information presents Memorandum to UN office in Islamabad

Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan presented a Memorandum to the UN office in Islamabad on Wednesday highlighting oppression of Indian armed forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The Memorandum was presented to UN Resident Representative in Pakistan Julien Harneis.

Later, Talking to Radio Pakistan exclusively, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning, Development and Reforms Kanwal Shauzab said Pakistan will raise voice of Kashmiris at every forum.

She said 5th February is an important day to express our solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.

The Parliamentary Secretary demanded the United Nations play its role in resolving the issue of Kashmir. She said Pakistan will make all out efforts to highlight the issue at all international forums.

Director General Radio Pakistan Samina Waqar said it is responsibility of every Pakistan to celebrate Kashmir Solidarity Day. She said Radio Pakistan is playing an important role for Kashmiris struggle for right of self-determination.

The Director General said only voice of Radio Pakistan is reaching the people of occupied Kashmir. She said Radio Pakistan has also launched two special songs in connection to the Kashmir Solidarity Day. 

Leader All Parties Hurriyet Conference Abdul Hameed Lone in his remarks said this day reflects that Pakistanis support their Kashmiri brethren. He lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan for highlighting the Kashmir issue internationally adequately.

He urged the United Nations and international community to play its due role in resolving the longstanding issue as it is imperative for regional peace and security.
