Govt launches campaign to mitigate impacts of COVID19

The Government has decided to launch a campaign titled "Hackathon" to mitigate adverse impacts of Coronavirus across the country.

This was stated by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr Zafar Mirza while updating the media on latest Coronavirus situation in the country, in Islamabad on Thursday evening.

He said during the campaign, various health experts can share their ideas and authentic information with the Ministry of Health by 14th of this month.

Dr Zafar Mirza said the government will provide financial and technical support for developing the selected ideas of experts under the umbrella of Hackathon from 17th to 19th of this month.

Sharing statistics about Coronavirus cases in Pakistan, Dr. Zafar Mirza said that there are total 2291 confirmed cases in the country with 845 in Punjab, 743 in Sindh, 276 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 169 in Balochistan, 187 in Gilgit Baltistan, 62 in Islamabad and nine in Azad Kashmir. 

He said that 107 patients have recovered so far, nine in critical condition, while 31 persons have died due to this pandemic.
