A week-long pre-election special training of police force was started in all districts of Punjab on Sunday. 

In a statement, a spokesman of Punjab Police said the training is aimed at building capacity of Police officials to counter emergency situation and any untoward incident on Election Day.

He said the participants will be provided training in skills like protection of Ballot Boxes and Returning Officers and VIP's, First Aid, Fire Fighting, emergency situation handling and coordination with other law enforcement agencies according to modern parameters.
