In the United States, nationwide protests that broke out over the death of an unarmed black man at the hands of a police officer earlier this week have intensified in multiple cities.

According to BBC, the former white officer of Minneapolis state police has now been charged with murder and manslaughter after being seen in a video with his knee on the neck of black man, George Floyd.

Despite the verdict, the protests are continuing as the incident has reignited anger over continued police killings of black Americans.
