In Afghanistan, women chanting “bread, work, freedom” protested in Kabul against the Taliban's restrictions on their rights.

Afghan women gathered in front of the ministry of education and said education is my right and reopen schools.

An AFP correspondent reported that demonstrators marched for a few hundred meters before ending the rally as authorities deployed Taliban fighters in plain clothes .

Women Protesters said after seizing power, the Taliban had promised a softer version of the Islamist rule than  their first stint in power from 1996 to 200. But many restrictions have already been imposed.
