Experts hail Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to Kashmir cause
September 28, 2022

Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal (IR Expert): The response of the international community regarding human rights abuses in IIOJ&K should be more active. They are observing the genocide and atrocities on the Kashmiri people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, but are not taking any action in this regard. The incumbent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have strongly condemned the oppression of Kashmiris and highlighted this issue quite effectively at every forum of the world. According to UN resolutions, a plebiscite should have been conducted a long time ago and we have highlighted this fact many times. But, India is a big country and it is quite difficult to target such a country. They are already paying a cost, as they have deployed a large number of their forces in the region to control it but have not been successful.

Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): It is a timely statement given by the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding Pakistan’s assurance of raising voice for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The world has been observing the Indian human rights violations on the Kashmiri people but is not taking steps to stop it. There will be no change in the stance of Pakistan, as we categorically condemn the atrocities of the Indian army in the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan always criticizes the atrocities and injustices against the Muslims in the region. It is high time that the Kashmiri people are given their full rights. Pakistan has always supported the Kashmiri people at all national or international forums. We have highlighted the injustices against Kashmiris and we will continue to do so, until Kashmiris achieve their right of self-determination.
