Shehzad Akbar sends defamation notice to ex-DG FIA for damaging his reputation

Lawyers of Prime Minister's Advisor on Interior and Accountability Shehzad Akbar have sent a defamation notice to ex-Director General of Federal Investigation Agency Bashir Ahmed Memon for damaging reputation of their client.

The notice has been sent under Section 8 of the Defamation Ordinance 2002.

The notice states that Bashir Memon, in a TV show, leveled baseless allegations against their client Shehzad Akbar, who is an honest, respectable and law abiding citizen.

 It asked Bashir Memon to make an unconditional apology through newspapers and electronic media within 14 days of the issuance of this notice. Besides, the notice sought 500 million rupees as compensation  for damaging the reputation of Shehzad Akbar and a legal fee of two million rupees have also been sought in the notice and in case of noncompliance a legal action can be initiated against the former DG FIA.
