Analysts hail reinvigorated foreign policy of incumbent government
September 27, 2022

Waheed Ahmed (Former Ambassador): We are hopeful to receive further relief assistance from the world.  The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif successfully highlighted the devastating situation of floods in the country during his speech at the UN and interaction with various world leaders. The Prime Minister highlighted the gravity of situation due to climate change and suffering of Pakistan. It is essential to have such meetings and to find solutions for such issues. Social media can also help raise awareness about the climate impacts. We have to make consistent efforts to provide relief to the people. The areas of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan are heavily inundated and damaged. Various diseases have broken out in the affected areas, posing danger to the heaths and lives of people. We should not pin much hopes from international community. Rather, we should enhance our efforts to help the affected people.

Zulfikar Ali Bader (Spokesperson for Foreign Minister): A good and fortunate thing for Pakistan is that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is actively working to further develop relations with the world. He is in constant connection with the international community, or any other forum. He recently met Antony Blinken in the US and discussed economic & trade cooperation. Pakistan is in dire need of such foreign relations to develop our economy and attain stability. Foreign Minister is working in the right direction. Indian politicians are not as rational as Pakistani politicians. The resolution of Kashmir issue is of utmost priority for FM Bilawal Bhutto. The diplomacy of any country should be flexible in order to achieve peace and stability in the region. Pakistan is one of the countries whose rate of carbon emissions is less than 1% but still we are facing the severe negative impacts of the climate change.
