Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the government is taking various steps to promote all sports in the country, including squash.

He made the remarks during a meeting with noted former squash player and world champion Jansher Khan who called on him in Islamabad on Friday.  

The Prime Minister said provision of sports fields and best sporting facilities to the youth are among the priorities of the government.

Jansher Khan informed the Prime Minister about his recent activities for the promotion of squash, including provision of training to the young squash players.

Paying tribute to Jansher Khan, who has the honor of becoming eight-time world champion and six-time British Open champion, the Prime Minister said you and your family have brought laurels to Pakistan through squash. The Prime Minister appreciated the valuable services of Jansher Khan in squash and promoting the game.
