Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig (Economist): It is very good news for our economy that the IMF delegation will be visiting Islamabad from 31st of this month to 9th of next month to continue discussions regarding the ninth review of the 7 billion dollars Extended Fund Facility. Pakistan has already shown its intention by meeting the conditions set by IMF. The government either willingly or unwillingly has finally decided to fulfil the obligations set by IMF to enhance revenue targets, circular debts issues and free float of Pakistani rupee aginst US Dollar. At this stage, IMF programme is everything for us. Pakistan’s economy will be on track again after approval of extended program as the financial assistance from friendly countries and donor agencies is subject to this programme. The continuation of extended program by IMF will have very positive and far reaching impact of economy of Pakistan.
