World Tourism Day to be observed on Sept 27
September 26, 2021

World Tourism Day will be observed on Monday across the globe with the theme 'Tourism for Inclusive Growth'.

The observance of this day is aimed at highlighting the unique role of the tourism sector in preserving cultural and natural heritage all around the world.

Since 1980, the 27th September has been celebrated as World Tourism Day to promote the tourism sector in providing jobs and opportunities, mostly for women and youth, in rural as well as big cities.

Tourism can help in reducing poverty and inequalities, promoting gender equality and fostering decent work and economic growth.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a massive social and economic impact to the economics of both developed and developing countries. The restart of tourism will help kickstart recovery and growth.
