Commenting on blocking of the BBC documentary in India on Modi’s role in the Gujarat riots, the State Department Spokesman Ned Price said US supports free press around the world and has made a point with India in this regard.

During his daily briefing in Washington, he said the US continues to highlight the importance of democratic principles, such as freedom of expression, freedom of religion or belief, as human rights and it supports “importance of a free press around the world”.
