Analysts hope Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia will further strengthen Pak, Saudi bilateral relations

Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): Middle East region is of strategic importance in the world. The visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia will help strengthen already exemplary brotherly relations between the two countries. The visit and meetings of Prime Minister with the Saudi leadership become more important in the wake of regional geo dynamics. Leaders of both countries can develop understanding on future direction of the region. Pakistan is urging the world to help Afghan government in order to avert a humanitarian crisis in the war torn country. Pakistan itself is going through a sensitive situation and it also needs to develop relations with other countries.

Mushtaq Mehr (Former Diplomat): Prime Minister’s visit to the Saudi Arabia is significant as world is witnessing many changes. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can collaborate in various projects relating to climate change. The visit will also solidify Pak, Saudi bilateral relations. Political role of Middle East is diminishing due to a number of factors. There is a lot of room for economic development in the countries of Middle East and West Asia. Prime Minister will present Pakistan’s point of view on regional developments during discussions with Saudi and other world officials.

Dr. Human Baqai (IR Expert): Prime Minister Imran Khan’s three-day visit to Saudi Arabia is tremendously important in context of the economic and trade ties between the two countries.  Saudi Arabia is a close ally of Pakistan and the Pak-Saudi ties have an impact on our economy. Prime Minister is visiting Saudi Arabia to take part in Middle East Green Initiative Summit which resonates with PTI government’s commitment towards protection of environment. It is hoped that the visit of Prime Minister will help bolster bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. India is engaged in propaganda against the Taliban while Pakistan is fully committed for peace in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has played an active and sincere role for bringing peace in Afghanistan. Islamabad is now urging world community to provide assistance to Afghanistan to avert humanitarian crisis there.
