Analysts urge the world community to take notice of worsening human rights situation in IIOJ&K
November 21, 2021

Dr. Shaheen Akhtar (IR Expert): The current Biden administration in the US strongly believes in democracy and human rights and it is expected of it to take notice of the Indian atrocities being committed against innocent Kashmiris in IIOJ&K. The US being a global power has a responsibility to play its role in stopping the brutalities on Kashmiris. The apathy of world community towards the plight of Kashmiris is due to their commercial interests with India. The peace of the region is linked with the resolution of Kashmir issue. Khalistan Referendum has lot of political implications and it shows the aspirations of Sikhs for their rights. The rights of minorities in India are being violated and it is bringing disrepute to the New Delhi government.

Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): The government in Pakistan at its end is making all out efforts to highlight Kashmir dispute at all international fora. The ambassadors, envoys, foreign minister and Prime Minister himself is utilizing all diplomatic forums to make the world convinced about worsening situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. On the other hand, unfortunately, the world is obsessed with other issues and not paying serious attention on human rights violations committed by Indian forces in the held valley. Kashmiri people are fighting at their own for their right to self-determination and their sacrifices in this regard have internationalized the Kashmir dispute. It seems the conscience of the international community is gradually awakening and the civilized world is expressing concerns over what is happening in the occupied valley. The fascist Indian government is only pursuing the policy of Hindu dominance and targeting other minorities within India and Kashmir.

Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad Khan (IR Expert): What is happening in Afghanistan right now is beyond the expectations of the world. A big humanitarian crisis is emerging in Afghanistan. The world should take the situation seriously and provide assistance to Afghanistan. The neighboring countries especially Pakistan and Iran should open their borders for supply of essential goods to the war torn country. The UN needs to immediately set up a fund for fighting hunger in Afghanistan. The rulers of Afghanistan should also ensure that people get help in coping with the situation.

Brig. (Retd.) Said Nazir (Defense Analyst): Afghanistan suffered at the hands of the United Nations itself as it passed the resolution in favor of war against Afghanistan. The assets of Afghan people have been frozen by the United States that will result in worst humanitarian crisis in the war-torn country. With a shattered economy, the humanitarian crisis is hovering around the country. The human rights champions must take measures to ensure the availability of basic stuff to the suffering Afghan people. The Muslim countries and the OIC need to come forward and support the Afghan government in these critical times. The international community needs to urgently disburse the aid package pledged to all poor, vulnerable and displaced people in Afghanistan. The prevailing situation in Afghanistan and of its people must be an eye opener for the entire world.
