United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged the Security Council to extend the resolution that allows cross-border deliveries of lifesaving aid in Syria for another 12 months.
UN Secretary-General highlighting his report on the matter underscored that humanitarian needs in Syria are at their highest since the start of the war over 11 years ago.
He stressed that the current United Nations humanitarian appeal requires 4.4 billion US dollar to assist people inside Syria and another 5.6 billion US dollar to support refugees in the region.
