Prime Minister Imran Khan has said uplifting the poor segments of the society and backward areas including the tribal districts is the priority of the government.

He was addressing a ceremony in connection with distribution of cheques among the tribal people under Kamyab Jawan Program in Wana on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister said special emphasis will be accorded to the education sector and provision of livelihoods to the people of tribal districts.

He said apart from giving scholarship to the youth, schools, colleges, universities and technical institutes will be established in the tribal districts.

Imran Khan said the loans under the Kamyab Jawan Program is just the beginning and its scope will be further expanded in the days to come.

He said the Jirga system in the area will be made more strengthened according to tradition.

Imran Khan said the tribal people have given immense sacrifices for the country and only time would prove that the decision of merger of tribal districts with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the best one.

He pointed out that certain elements tried to create hurdles in the way of merger but credit goes to the tribal people for foiling their attempts.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister announced the opening of 3G and 4G mobile facility in the area saying this is the requirement of the youth to catch up with the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said under Kamyab Jawan program, five thousand cheques have been distributed so far among youth of South Waziristan District.
