Analyst appreciates PM Shehbaz’ firm stance in solidarity with Palestinian people
October 19, 2024

Dr. A.Z. Hilali (IR Expert): I appreciate Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement and efforts regarding the helping the innocent Palestinians and Lebanese who are victim of Israeli aggression and atrocities. Pakistan is the only country out of 54 Muslim countries that is very forward looking in projecting the cause of Palestinian people without any interest. Pakistan is using the platform of United Nations and its General Assembly and emphasizing on this resolution to this longstanding issue. Many regional and global organizations have condemned the Israeli atrocities and aggression and bombardment in Palestine and Lebanon. Israel must follow the rules of universal values, international law and UN charter. The perception that Israel has evolved for self-defense is unlawful, illegal, illicit, and have no moral justification about what they are doing with the backing and support of EU and US. More than forty one thousand people have been killed in Palestine and that killing process still continues. Prime Minister has established a fund for a good cause to facilitate these helpless people who are facing genocide by Israel. I think the people of Pakistan inside and outside the country will show their generosity and will participate to help the people who are in need. The contribution of the people in this cause will give a little hope of survival to the people who are facing difficult time in Palestine and south of Lebanon. Pakistan is helping these people when no Arab country is taking any good initiative or any non-Arab country except Malaysia and Turkey. The international organizations must intervene to ensure a two-state solution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. OIC must also have to play a pro-active role in resolving the conflict by uniting the Muslim world under one umbrella. Pakistan at its end is voicing against Israel’s siege and relentless bombing on the Gaza Strip, demanding an end to the oppression of the innocent Palestinian people. The UN officials must come forward not only to condemn and not only to hold meetings but to do something to rescue the people who are in trouble in the conflict. In this regard, there is a total disappointment from the Muslim Ummah. The Arab countries disappointed in rescuing the people and they failed to protect the people and they also failed to use their diplomatic and political pressure on US and European community.
