Turkey plans to set up 12 observation posts in northeast Syria: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the planned safe zone in northern Syria will extend much further than the one announced by the US officials under the ceasefire agreement.

Speaking to journalists in Ankara, he said Turkey plans to set up twelve observation posts in northeast Syria stretching from the Iraq border in the east to the Euphrates river 300 miles to the west.

Turkish President and his US counterpart Donald Trump also in a telephonic conversation have discussed modalities of the safe zone to be established in northern Syria.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Donald Trump spoke over phone and discussed the safe zone to be established east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.
