In Belarus, French Ambassador to Minsk Nicolas de Lacoste has left the country after the Belarusian government ordered him to leave.

He was posted to Minsk late last year.

According to local media, he was expelled because he failed to present his credentials to President Alexander Lukashenko.

France, like other EU countries, has not recognized Mr Lukashenko's claim to a sixth presidential term after last August's elections amid widespread claims of voting fraud.
