Analysts dub Kartarpur Corridor Complex as manifestation of Pakistan’s commitment to inter-faith harmony
November 17, 2021

Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Ejaz Awan (Defense Analyst): The present Indian government always talks about the Hindu dominance and creates problems for the minorities within India including Muslims, Christians, Dalits and others. The Indian fascist government dubbed the farmers' protest in India as a separatist movement. In Pakistan, the minorities are enjoying equal rights as citizens of the country. Pakistan is hosting thousands of Sikh ‘Yatrees’ from around the world, who have come to celebrate their founder’s 552th birth anniversary and to visit their holy shrines in Pakistan. The Sikh pilgrims would pay visit at different Gurdwaras, including Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. Kartarpur Sahib complex was a gift by the people of Pakistan and their leadership to the Sikh community from India and worldwide.

Brig. (Retd.) Said Nazir (Defense Analyst): Thousands of Sikh devotees from India visit Pakistan every year to celebrate the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. The Sikh minority community in India’s northern state of Punjab and elsewhere has long sought easier access to the temple in Kartarpur. Pakistan completed the Kartarpur Corridor complex in a very short span of time to facilitate the Sikh Yatrees coming to visit their holy places. Pakistan has expressed disappointment on relentless negative propaganda campaign being waged by a section of the Indian media against Islamabad. The minorities in India are unsafe as the extremists in their country are forcing them to change their religion to Hinduism. Pakistan is determined to continue to do what is right for advancing this noble initiative despite Indian conspiracies.
