US, Russia agree to resume Cyber Security and arms control talks

The United States and Russia have agreed to resume Cyber Security and arms control talks and return ambassadors to each other's capitals.

The development came in the first face-to-face meeting between the US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Geneva.

In a joint statement released after the meeting that lasted four hours, the two presidents termed the talks successful and positive. 

The two sides said the nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.

Later, addressing the media, US president Joe Biden said that talks were held on human rights, importance of a free speech and bilateral issues.

He said US is firmly committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Russian President Putin defended his actions in Ukraine and vowed to ensure the implementation of the Minsk agreement.
