Eminent environmentalists have stressed the need to improve waste management system and urban planning to deal with local warming that could lead to heatwave.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, expert on environment Dr Iftekhar Ahmed said Methane and Carbon Dioxide are major cause of local warming which omit from bio waste and fuel burning.

He said through technocratic input, green areas of cities should be enhanced that has unfortunately shrunk to only three percent in Pakistan.

Famous expert on climate change Dr Hina said deforestation, increased population and enhanced pressure on energy resources are major reasons of global warming.

To mitigate the effects of local and global warming tree plantation campaign and utilization of all those practices that can reduce the omissions of transportation and industries, should be focused.
