Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza says Council of Common Interest has recommended to provide ten billion rupees for Population Welfare in the country.

Addressing an event in Islamabad today, he said population growth is a national issue that can be addressed through collective efforts.

He said the population of the country will be twice in next thirty years if we failed to focus on this issue seriously.

Zafar Mirza said a Task Force will be formed soon to prepare a comprehensive strategy for controlling the population of the country.

He said that Universal Health Coverage Package will be started from Islamabad and provision of facilities for family planning will also be part of this package.

The Special Assistant said different topics related to population control will also be included in national curriculum.
